The arboretum at Flagstaff was founded in 1981 as a private noncommercial organization under the official name “The Transition Zone horticultural Institute” whereas analysis was the initial primary focus. Over the years it has become referred to as a destination for native and out-of-town guests to learn need to be told additional information concerning the native plants and animals found in northern Arizona. The arboretum encompasses horticultural collections, rare plant specimens, historic buildings, and a nature path through the ponderosa pine forest. 

Open to the general public from May through October, The Arboretum in Arizona is situated on 200 acres in the Coconino National Forest. The Arboretum is open Wednesday - Sunday, 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM, May - October. Gardens are closed from November till April. The admission Fee is $3- $7, with discounts for senior citizens & teens. Kids under 3 & Members are free. There are two 50-minute guided tours organized daily at 11:00 AM and 1:00 PM.

Enjoy the Desert Bloom in Arizona
Founded in the Twenties by mining tycoon Boyce Thompson to provide folks an appreciation of plants, the botanical garden and arboretum in AZ displays native Sonoran Desert vegetation alongside plants from several other varied deserts and dry lands. Special areas include the cactus Garden, the Taylor Family Legume Garden, the Wing Memorial (herb) Garden, the (drought tolerant plant) Demonstration Garden, and also the High trail. Gold poppies, Penstemons and primrose beautify the cactus Garden and along the paths.

Admission of $9 includes daily 11:00 A.M. guided tours and weekend nature walks; and these events are at no extra charge to the annual members, also at no charge to guests with an Arizona State Parks annual pass. Wildflower Photography classes are scheduled in March. There are many other events held through the year. The gift shop has a great collection of desert-adapted plants in stock. There isn't any restaurant at the facility however sandwiches, drinks and snacks are offered in the novelty shop. Picnic tables and charcoal grills are on the market for guests to use; propane and charcoal are allowed, but not wood fires.

The garden at Mesa community college isn't only a Mesa landmark but a centerpiece for community, education, and innovative economic initiatives in the East valley. The Rose Garden's nearly 9,000 rose bushes demonstrate the tremendous range of vibrant colors, flower forms and growth habits that are accessible for everybody to get pleasure from roses, whether at The garden at MCC or to provide concepts for their own gardens.

The AZ garden is maintained by the “Deadheaders” and "Pruners", all volunteers from the community, as well as volunteers of the Mesa-East vale Rose Society.

One should be careful in this place not to disturb the garden as it is the habitat of many plants and animals. Visitors under the age of 18 are not going to be admitted without adult oversight. Visitors are advised to keep in mind that this is a special place for plants and animals, and is completely different from a park or playground. This AZ garden and arboretum is open each Saturday and Sunday from Sept through May or you could request a special tour from the site steward.

Experience The Wonderful Japanese Phoenix Friendship
The Japanese friendship Garden of Phoenix, also called Ro Ho en is a real 3.5 acre Japanese Stroll Garden with tea garden and tea house.  As you walk down the trail, you may enjoy flowing streams, a 12-foot waterfall, and a Koi pond with over three hundred colorful Koi fish. One of the main attractions at the Japanese friendship Garden is the Japanese Tea House.

Landscape architects from Himeji, Japan made sixty visits to Phoenix and the city of Phoenix delegations created 5 visits to Himeji since 1987. Overall, more than fifty architects from Himeji contributed to the project. The Japanese relationship Garden sponsors authentic tea ceremonies for the general public on the second weekday of every month that the garden is open. It operates Tuesday through Sunday. The times are: weekdays: 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. & weekends: 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. This is a beautiful garden and arboretum in Arizona.

Tucson Botanical Gardens is a private non-profit organization supported by financial gain generated through admissions, memberships, store sales, special events, classes and rentals, contributions from people, companies and foundations, and grants from the city and County. Volunteers assist the employees with almost every aspect of the gardens’ operations. The entity called “Tucson botanical Gardens” was originally founded in 1964 by horticulturist and collector, Harrison G. Yocum.

This Garden and arboretum in Arizona operates from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Butterfly Magic- 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. (October through April). October till April the charges range from $ 7.5- $13, while May till September it is $4-$8, and always free for members and children under 3 years.
