Enjoy The Spectacular Sight At Soleri Bridge Scottsdale’s spectacular Soleri Bridge and Plaza was designed and conceptualized by renowned artist, architect, Paolo Soleri. This brilliant piece of architecture is situated in downtown Scottsdale. It attracts all types of visitors from casual Waterfront visitors and local people, to travelers, students, architects, and art lovers. The bridge is constructed at a true north axis, to mark solar events produced by the sun’s shadow. The gap between both sets of pylons helps the sun to produce a beam of light as the earth rotates.
During the summer solstice (June 21st) there is no shadow as the sun is highest in the sky and similarly at the winter solstice (December 21st) the shadow is the longest and covers the bridge structure. The bridge and plaza also celebrates the annual equinox events each year. Soleri Bridge and Plaza is a significant piece of public art in Arizona and the entry is free and open to the public every day.
