Explore Great Works of Western American Artists The Phippen Museum was first established in 1974 as the Phippen Foundation in the memory of George Phippen, the first president of the Cowboy Artists of America. Its chief mission remains to preserve and exhibit Western art and portray its advancement through time. It was opened for the public on October 13, 1984. The Museum’s collection includes paintings, etchings, drawings, bronze sculptures, etc., that date from the late 19th century to the early 21st century.
This art museum in downtown Prescott can be visited on Tuesday-Saturday (10 a.m. - 4 p.m.) and Sunday (1 p.m. - 4 p.m. ). An admission ticket price varies from $5.00 to $7.00 though it is free for children under 12 and members. The museum offers free tours of its current exhibits on the first Saturday of every month, at 11 a.m.
